There are no major hotels within a short walking distance of the restaurant, unfortunately, but there are several AirBnB listings in the vicinity. Also, considering that it’s San Jose, light rail to downtown is always an option.
Another potential option we are floating is this: If you still live in the area, and have a guest room or comfortable couch available, how about hosting one of your friends and/or fellow Vikings at your home? This option might convince those who can’t afford both flights (or gas, if they’re driving) and lodging to come join us. It also gives you an opportunity to continue catching up on a more one-on-one level. Of course, this is only if you feel comfortable doing so, and there’s no liability protection like you’d receive using AirBnb or VRBO…so make sure you have conversations with the person beforehand and you both know what to expect from each other.
